Boss Extreme series airbags are rated at 2500lb or 1136kg per side and have been government approved tested to over 750psi.

All Boss airbags are manufactured by us and are branded Boss. Beware of unbranded airbags, usually coming from China from other companies.

Average dual cab ute will run around 15-45psi depending on load.

Boss has sold over 45,000 load assist kits in Australia, proven over time with 4WD enthusiasts, Mining companies, Tradies, 4WD Tour Operators as well as in Agricultural Vehicles, Trailers and motorhomes, limited only to your imagination.

To get the best performance from your kit inflate airbags just enough to achieve a level ride height. By doing this you are also allowing all of the suspension components to share the extra load of the vehicle and not putting any unnecessary pressure on any one individual part of your vehicles suspension.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Load Assist and full air suspension?

Load Assist kits retain the original suspension (usually leaf springs) and simply help support the load and correct sag. Full air suspension replaces the primary springs with airbags or bag-over-strut units so the vehicle rides entirely on air. Full air systems usually include automatic height control and more complex air management.

Are there legal requirements for full air suspension systems?

Yes. In many regions, full air suspension must include automatic ride-height control and must not allow large, sudden height changes while driving. Electronic systems typically use a handbrake or speed input so major adjustments are only possible when stationary or at very low speed. Engineering approval or certification is often required.

What is the lift range for the Buick 49 - 53 Load Assist Kit?

The Buick 49 - 53 Load Assist Kit is designed to work with standard height vehicles and can accommodate lifts of up to approximately 2 inches. For lifts exceeding this height, consider using taller brackets or triple-bellow airbags.

How do I achieve the best performance from my load assist kit?

To get the best performance, inflate the airbags just enough to achieve a level ride height. This allows all suspension components to share the load evenly, reducing unnecessary pressure on any single part of your vehicle's suspension.

Can I use this kit for towing?

Yes, the Buick 49 - 53 Load Assist Kit is suitable for towing. It helps to stabilise the vehicle and maintain a level ride height when towing loads, improving handling and safety.

What is the maximum load capacity of the airbags in this kit?

The Boss 2600 double airbags included in this kit are rated at 2500lb or 1136kg per side. This provides ample support for various loads while maintaining vehicle stability.

Are the airbags in this kit interchangeable with other brands?

No, the airbags in the Buick 49 - 53 Load Assist Kit are specifically designed for this application and are not interchangeable with other brands or models. Always use Boss airbags for optimal performance and safety.

How often should I check the air pressure in the airbags?

It is recommended to check the air pressure in the airbags regularly, especially before towing or carrying heavy loads. Typical pressure for a dual cab ute ranges from 15-45psi, depending on the load.
