Boss Extreme series airbags are rated at 2500lb or 1136kg per side and have been government approved tested to over 750psi.

All Boss airbags are manufactured by us and are branded Boss. Beware of unbranded airbags, usually coming from China from other companies.

Average dual cab ute will run around 15-45psi depending on load.

Boss has sold over 45,000 load assist kits in Australia, proven over time with 4WD enthusiasts, Mining companies, Tradies, 4WD Tour Operators as well as in Agricultural Vehicles, Trailers and motorhomes, limited only to your imagination.

To get the best performance from your kit inflate airbags just enough to achieve a level ride height. By doing this you are also allowing all of the suspension components to share the extra load of the vehicle and not putting any unnecessary pressure on any one individual part of your vehicles suspension.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Load Assist and full air suspension?

Load Assist kits retain the original suspension (usually leaf springs) and simply help support the load and correct sag. Full air suspension replaces the primary springs with airbags or bag-over-strut units so the vehicle rides entirely on air. Full air systems usually include automatic height control and more complex air management.

Are there legal requirements for full air suspension systems?

Yes. In many regions, full air suspension must include automatic ride-height control and must not allow large, sudden height changes while driving. Electronic systems typically use a handbrake or speed input so major adjustments are only possible when stationary or at very low speed. Engineering approval or certification is often required.

What is the lift range for the Buick 49 - 53 Load Assist Kit?

The Buick 49 - 53 Load Assist Kit is designed to assist with load management rather than provide a lift. It works best for standard height vehicles and can accommodate up to approximately 2 inches of lift when combined with appropriate brackets or spacers.

How do I determine the correct air pressure for the airbags?

For optimal performance, inflate the airbags just enough to achieve a level ride height. Typical pressures for dual cab utes range from 15 to 45 psi, depending on the load. Always refer to the vehicle's specific requirements and adjust accordingly.

Can I use this kit on a vehicle with existing air suspension?

This Load Assist Kit is designed to work alongside existing leaf springs and is not intended for vehicles that already have a full air suspension system. It is meant to enhance load stability and ride quality for standard suspension setups.

What are the benefits of using Boss airbags over unbranded options?

Boss airbags are manufactured to high standards and are government approved, tested to over 750psi. They feature a unique beadlock-style clamping system that prevents separation under load, ensuring reliability and safety. Unbranded options may not meet these standards and can compromise performance.

Is installation of the Load Assist Kit straightforward?

Yes, the kit comes with all necessary mounting hardware and instructions for fitting. However, it is recommended that installation be carried out by someone with experience in suspension work to ensure proper setup and safety.

Can I link the airbags side-to-side for this kit?

No, the airbags in this Load Assist Kit must be kept isolated (dual-path) to prevent air transfer between sides. This design helps avoid body roll and maintains proper articulation during cornering.

What types of vehicles typically benefit from this Load Assist Kit?

This kit is ideal for a variety of vehicles, including 4WDs, utes, and trailers, especially when carrying heavy loads or towing. It helps maintain a level ride height and improves stability, making it suitable for tradies, agricultural vehicles, and recreational use.
